Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival at Paro International Airport & Transfer to Thimphu

Distance: 65 Kms | Approx. Travel Time: 1 Hour

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to Thimphu, the beautiful capital city of Bhutan located at an altitude of 2,736 meters (8,979 ft).

Enjoy the scenic drive through the Himalayan landscapes and river valleys. After hotel check-in, the evening is free for leisure activities, local market exploration, or relaxation.

Overnight stay at Thimphu.

DAY 2 – Thimphu Full Day Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Thimphu covering some of the city’s major cultural and historical attractions:

• Tashichho Dzong
• BBS Tower View Point
• Government Handicraft Emporium
• National Memorial Chorten
• Buddha Dordenma Statue (Buddha View Point)
• Folk Heritage Museum
• National Textile Museum
• National Institute of Traditional Medicine (Outside View)
• Takin Preserve (Bhutan National Animal Zoo)

In the evening, enjoy free time to explore local cafés, handicraft markets, and the vibrant streets of Thimphu.

DAY 3 – Thimphu to Punakha Sightseeing

Distance: 77 Kms | Approx. Travel Time: 3 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Punakha via the beautiful Dochula Pass situated at an altitude of 3,088 meters (10,130 ft). On clear days, the pass offers spectacular panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas.

Upon arrival in Punakha, check in to your hotel and later visit:

• Punakha Dzong – one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and historically important fortresses located at the confluence of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.

Evening free for leisure and relaxation.

DAY 4 – Punakha to Paro

Distance: 142 Kms | Approx. Travel Time: 4 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Paro, one of Bhutan’s most picturesque valleys situated at an altitude of 2,230 meters (7,300 ft).

En route, visit:

• Simtokha Dzong – the oldest fortress in Bhutan built in 1627, renowned for its Buddhist paintings and architecture.

Upon arrival in Paro, check in to the hotel. Evening free for leisure activities and local market exploration.

DAY 5 – Paro Sightseeing & Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike

After breakfast, begin the memorable hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery, popularly known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks perched dramatically on a cliffside.

• Approximate hiking duration: 3 hours uphill
• Return trek: Approx. 1.5 hours downhill

The monastery offers breathtaking mountain views and deep spiritual significance.

Later in the afternoon, continue sightseeing in Paro covering:

• Drukgyel Dzong
• National Museum of Bhutan
• Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong)

Evening free for shopping and relaxation.

DAY 6 – Departure from Paro

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
